Even though the sun is out 365 days a year in Florida and the weather hardly goes below 60, we do have our bad thunderstorms and of course the dreaded hurricanes!  Before you take a trip to Florida, plan ahead and check how the weather will be when you come!

Florida is so sunny, that the St. Petersburg Times Evening Independent (what used to be the sister paper to the St. Pete Times) used to give the paper away any day the sun failed to shine. During its 76 years of Suncoast promotion and publication, betting on the sun proved relatively inexpensive for the publisher. The paper was free only 295 times--an average of fewer than four times per year.
